Apply for the SASSA SRD R350 grant using govchat.app website.

As a result of the heavy traffic congestion on the servers of SASSA during the online application of the reinstated SRD R350 Grant, SASSA adopted a new channel to help applicants.

The GovChat is a government online service platform for various services. With this one cam equally apply for the reinstated grant.

As usual, before youbcan use it you need an internet connection, a good one i mean.

As a requirement for the SASSA SRD R350 grant application, you need certain information about you the applicant.

Without wasting your time, let’s see what to do.

• Visit the website https://govchat.app/login
• You are likely to be met with verification requests. Enter your cell phone number. An SMS verification code will sent to the number (4 digits)
• Enter the digit received in the spaces provided.
• After that click on login.
• A new web page with various services offered on the platform will show up.
• Click on the SASSA, then click on Apply for grants and select the SRD grant.
• They will request for a reference number which you may not have received ( from WhatsApp if you had used their WhatsApp number 0820468553 to apply).
• Click on the “Create New Form)
• The form is a personal record form.
• You have to tick/agree to the two statements namely :
  • ” I have read and agreed to Terms and Conditions found below” and
  • ” I have read and agree to ‘How the grants work’ below.
  • Just click on the small circles to the right of each point to turn from grey to green. See attached picture below
  • Enter your First Name and Surname in the spaces provided respectively.
• Scroll down to the Citizenship and choose South Africa and then enter your ID number as well

And click on Continue/Next.

Get your reference number generated to continue the application. Enter your details like residential address and after that submit.

You will receive a confirmation message indicating a successful submission of the application and a reference number.

The reference number will later be used to check status and submit bank account information (usually after 24 hours of submission).
