Timelines for the SASSA SRD R350 Grant Applications an Payments.

SASSA has officially announced the commencement of the application since Friday 6th August 2021.

On that day, the online website servers were hit with numerous visitors trying to apply for the reinstated SRD R350 Grant at same time.

This led to the registration site becoming too slow yo operate although some people were able to apply.

This forced SASSA to open other application channels such as the GovChat and the WhatsApp (0820468553) to beef up the process.

Initially the WhatsApp Channel was not responding leading to added frustrations.

But later it started functioning and now people are able to register. In deed the main sassa site used for registration ( https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/application/auth) is somewhat slow but far better than the earlier days.

With this new registration, applicants are given the chance to submit their bank account or preferred payment options in advance unlike the previous SRD where payment options was only available after approval.

When one successfully applies, an SMS confirmation is received on the phone number used to apply, to indicate the applicant’s application is active.

SASSA promised that payments of the August 2021 will start in the last week of the month of August 2021, which most people are patiently waiting.

As at the 5th day of the registration process, more than 5 million applications have been received by SASSA indicating how many people are eager to receive this grant.

As people are patiently waiting you can check your SASSA SRD R350 grant application status here.

Some of the actions you can perform on the website are inactive and people should exercise much constraints because of the numerous number of applications received by SASSA. Sassa has already indicated that because of the global pandemic, they are working with a small number of staff members at the same time.

It is more advisable and convenient to use bank account to receive SRD grant. Below we have listed two banks in South Africa that applicants can easily create or open bank accounts even online or just a stone throw away.

TO CHECK YOUR STATUS OF TO CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT FROM POST OFFICE TO A BANK ACCOUNT ON THE SRD STATUS WED IS IMPOSSIBLE. NOBODY CAN USE IT TO CHANGE OF CHECK YOUR STATUS. CHECKING YOUR STATUS COMES UP FAILED AND TO CHANGE PAYMENTS TO A BANK ACCOUNT …EVEN MORE IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE YOU CANT OPEN IT TO DO SO. IS LIKE SASSA HAS BLOCKED PEOPLE TO DO IT.
