According to a statement released by SASSA, those who wish to be considered for the SASSA SRD R350 grant payments for the month of August 2021 must apply in the month of August.
Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the August payment.
SASSA says there will not be any arrears if one applies in a month other than the starting month of August.
For instance, if one applies in September, he or she will receive grants from September onwards, he or she will not be considered for the month of August.
From various sources, it is evident that a sizeable number of potential applicants have not been able to submit their applications due to the fact that, they do not have smartphones nor internet access.
We wish to bring this to the attention of SASSA to consider introducing a new USSD code otherwise, these citizens who are mainly poor, will be left out.

SASSA must as a matter of urgency, have to find some registration points where people can be assisted especially in the rural areas.
They can do so as they observe social distance protocols.
Some have taken to social media to express their disappointment in the limited ways of applying for SASSA srd R350 grant.
The USSD code *134*7737# which was previously used is not activated and we wonder what is keeping SASSA to reactivate for applicants to use this time around.
SASSA promised to introduce the USSD code last weekend, but with new passing weekend, we are yet hear their public outfit.
This has led some of these desperate potential applicants to resort to online helpers or strangers for help.
Your guess might be a good as mine, some of these strangers are scammers who can do anything with one’s personal data.
We are barely left with 11 days to the end of the month, SASSA must therefore up their game to help these poor and vulnerable people to apply so that they too can have some form of sustenance.
