When asked on Twitter as to when payment will start, SASSA responded to this Twitter user that plans are far advanced to start payment for the August 2021 on 23rd August 2021 which happens to be this Monday.

But they were quick to add that, payment dates for individual applications cannot be certain.

But they are sure payments will start Monday, just a clarification that Approvals will also start same day.

As the Minister made it known during one her speeches, funds are secured by the agency from Treasury, so that applicants are paid right away when approved.

It is therefore likely that this time around, applicants will not have to wait days or weeks before seeing payment dates showing or approved without pay dates.

Especially those using their personal bank account will be paid faster compared to those who have to queue up at the various Post offices.
