SASSA has served notice that the ability to change or switch applicant’s Payments method from one to the other is not possible, at least for now.

From 2023 ongoing, all the payment options or methods are fully activated but now post office payments are switched to retail stores like Shoprite etc.
During a conversation on Twitter followed by this website https://techgecko.co.za indicates, they have intentionally shut down the payment options switch module so that they can easily go ahead and process the submitted applications for payment for the month of August 2021.
What that means is that, those who have successfully submitted their bank account details upfront will have their payments made into the account.
If there was a mistake when submitting bank account, you are likely to be paid at the post office or payment suspended.
Those who applied without choosing any payments option or method will have post office selected as default payments method.
They also indicated that, payment switch options will be available in the month of September 2021 after the processing of the August payments.
Please if you are currently finding it difficult to change or switch or submit bank account information, don’t worry about it. It will be resolved very soon.
The ability to change banking details is correctly closed so that we can process payment for August. There will be windows period again when the changes can be made. At this stage the fist opportunity to change the information will be after 1 September.

So be prepared to receive your SASSA SRD R350 grant payments from the Post Office if you have not submitted your bank account information upfront or during the application.
SASSA says they’re under pressure due high volume of applications they are working on this has led to online platform slowing down.
After September 1st, the bank account information Updates or switch module will likely be activated.
Update to this story : Henceforth, applicants can switch to preferred payment options anytime in any day. You don’t have to wait for particular days to switch payments method.
