SASSA Appeal Status Check Guide

Many applicants of the SASSA SRD R350 grant who were declined since August 2022 had to wait for almost 9 months before they can receive feedback from their reconsideration or appeal status. But in 2023 going forward things are going to change for the better.

Below we have outlined these simple steps to check your appeal status for SRD R350 starting April 2022:

• For those checking last year appeals for last year, visit the website https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals to check appeal status
• Enter your 13 digits ID number and the phone number used to apply into the space provided.
• Click on the “Send Pin” button.
• A pin code is sent automatically to the phone number.
• Enter the code into the space provided
• Click on submit
• Select the month that you wish to check its appeal status.
• By clicking on the small arrow at the end of the button, a drop down menu will appear.
• Appeal status will be showing as approved or declined or pending.
• If pending, then you have to wait until you get the outcome
• If declined, you cannot appeal again.
• If approved then, you should check your status at the main site for the pay dates provided.
• Note that before you can can check appeal status, you should have already appealed for that month.

1. Go to the site https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration
2. Provide the information required thus the ID number and phone number
3. Send the pin code to the phone
4. Enter the pin received and submit
5. Choose the month you want to check your status
6. Appeal status will show up if you are approved, Declined or Pending.

• Log on to the website https://srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals (for new applications starting April 2022) or https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reconsideration (for the previous applications from August 2021 to March 2022)
• Make sure your ID number and the phone number used to apply are handy and accurate.
• To verify that you are the owner of that account, PIN code will be sent to the your phone number.
