Looking at the convenience enjoyed by applicants who used the banks as payment option compared to those using the post office as payment option, some who don’t have bank accounts want to know if they can use someone else’s bank account.

Since last year, SASSA has advised applicants to submit their own bank account to collect the grants.

So the simple answer to the question as to if you can use someone else’s bank account is No.

SASSA will verify each and every applicant’s submitted bank account to see if the account indeed belongs to the applicant.

If you do not have bank account, you can opt for Post Office Payments or ask for Post Office virtual card that can be used at some ATMs and Post Offices for cash withdrawal.
