When Should I Apply for the SASSA SRD R350 Grant April 2024

Since the president announced the Reinstatement or extension of the SRD grant, many have been wondering how and when the application is expected to be opened.

A day after the announcement, the DSD Minister Zulu made it clear that, the application for the Reinstated SRD R350 Grant is not officially started.

She also made it clear that, phone calls or email or USSD will not be used this time around for the SRD R350 grants unlike the other ones.

As to when the application will be started she did not state, but sources close to the Sassa indicate that the application is likely to commence in August.

She added that the application will be done online with the website and or WhatsApp.

She advised that all people must apply or submit a new application regardless of whether your details are already in the previous system or not.

In this case, everyone will submit a new application and as it was done in the previous period, they have to scrutinize all applications to make sure that grants are paid to deserving people.

Latest Updates

Currently, all new applicants can submit new applications and old applicants can decide to renew or update their records on the system to meet their current status.

Now that, the SASSA SRD R350 Grant has been further extended to March 2024 for additional one year.

January 2023 SRD R350 grant will resume in January after the new year celebrations. SASSA will continue to scrutinise their applications to make sure all approved really deserve the grant.
