SASSA has acknowledged the fact that there was challenges confronting the application process for the SRD R350 Grant.
In a statement released, there was server load issues as the their server waa using more than 95% of its capacity. This resulted in the site becoming very slow as more and more tried to apply at the same time.
Knowing that not all people are using smartphone or phones that can access the internet, USSD code which was initially announced didn’t respond.
As such, sassa says they are in the process to configure a new code that can be used on all networks as that does not require data or internet access.
For those who want to apply using the USSD code will have to wait next week for the new code.
They were quick to add that applicants can still apply within the month of August and will be paid, so there is no need to put pressure on one’s self.
