One of the main reasons why some SRD R350 grant applicants are declined is the fact that, their bank account balance is more than R350 per month or have been receiving deposits more than R350 per month or currently new threshold of R624 a month beginning 2023.
It may sound bizarre but thus the reality and it is an official criteria used by SASSA to determine if an applicant should be considered or denied for the SASSA SRD R350 Grant every month.
On this note, it is more advisable to keep your bank account balance at zero or something minimal.
Whenever an applicant submits his bank account, sassa has the consent of the applicant to have access to the account balance or transactions for a certain period of time.
This, according to SASSA is to help ascertain if the applicant is in anyway receiving some form of sustenance or income.

When one is declined for the SRD R350 grant, he or she does not have any specific opportunity to know exactly happened, but are only left with an appeal.
This appeal process or the reconsideration can take up to 90 days or three months for the final outcome and by that time, what would the individual who has been unemployed be used to cater for themselves.
