SASSA SRD R350 Grant Appeals: A Second Chance for Support

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has been providing essential support to vulnerable citizens through the SRD R350 Grant. This grant has been a lifeline for many individuals and families facing financial hardships. However, the application process can be challenging, and some applicants may initially be declined for various reasons.

The good news is that SASSA recognizes the importance of ensuring that deserving applicants receive the support they need. As such, they have established a system for appeals. If you have applied for the SRD R350 Grant and your application was declined, you have the opportunity to appeal the decision.

The Appeal Process:

The appeal process is designed to give applicants a second chance to present their case. If your initial application was denied, you can submit an appeal with additional information or clarifications to support your eligibility. SASSA will review your appeal and reconsider your application based on the provided evidence.

Limited Appeal Attempts:

It’s important to note that there is a limit to the number of appeal attempts. If your appeal is declined as well, there may not be another opportunity for a further appeal within the SASSA system.

Lodge a Complaint at the High Court:

However, applicants who believe they were unjustly denied the SRD R350 Grant still have another avenue for recourse. If all appeals have been exhausted, and you strongly believe you are eligible for the grant, you can choose to lodge a complaint at the High Court. This legal action allows you to present your case before a court of law, where an impartial judge will assess the evidence and make a final determination.

Checking Your Appeal Status:

Throughout the appeal process, applicants can keep track of their appeal status. SASSA has set up an online platform where you can check the progress of your appeal. Simply visit the following link:, and enter the required details to access your appeal status.

The SASSA SRD R350 Grant has been a crucial source of support for those facing financial difficulties. The appeal process ensures that deserving applicants have a fair chance to access this assistance. If your initial application was declined, don’t lose hope. Take advantage of the appeal process and provide any additional information or evidence that supports your eligibility. If necessary, remember that lodging a complaint at the High Court remains an option to seek justice. Stay informed and proactive throughout the process, and remember that there are resources available to help you through this challenging time.

  1. It is very unfair for the government to cut-off the Sassa Appeal for the citizens who did not apply for the R350 previous declined payments, because most of the people who receive the grant don’t have full access to internet therefore they can’t check their statuses or re apply same time after the payment declaration, while they rightfully deserve to receive the payment and now they have to go to the high court using what money to travel from their homes to the court? because they are receiving a social grant from government since they don’t afford to financial support themselves. The cut-off plan must be not used so that people will be able to receive their declined months without wasting more money which they don’t have as long as they have proof that they deserve all the payments their applications should be surely successful.
