SASSA pro (spokesperson) has clarified the issue of caregivers who qualify to apply for the reinstated SRD R350 Grant. Speaking on Lesedi fm, he said care givers or guardians who are taking care of adopted kids or orphans.
The keyword here is whether the child being taken care of is an orphan or adopted.
In view of this, those who are collecting child support grant for their kids do not qualify regardless of whether employed or unemployed.
When the president announced this reinstated SRD R350 Grant, there was confusion everywhere whether mothers who are already receiving Child support Grants on behalf of their children should be considered as a caregiver.
However, mothers taking care of their disabled children or taking care of orphans can still apply.
In a case, where the mother is receiving Child support Grants but same time taking care of his own disabled or her family member orphan can also apply.
Thus why SASSA has finally clarify the confusion. So simply put, if you are mother taking care of your child, you don’t qualify to apply for the reinstated SRD R350 Grant. 😳😳😳😳😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥

Mothers collecting Child support grant (CSG) can still qualify for the SASSA SRD R350 Grant if only if they qualify for the grant. The Child Support Grant is purposely for the child, the child is the beneficiary of the grant not the mother nor the care giver.
Starting October 2022, care givers are given opportunity for a top up to the child support grant, if they are taking care of orphans.
So as I did applied for srd R350 and says approved and I’m also a mother that collecting child support grant so I’m not allowed to get it!!
